Retro Rentals was started by Jo Retro and Viktor Royale, it was a way to continue their interests in 50's and 60's music, art, fashion, furniture, decor, and cars.

Raised on TV shows like the 'The Jetsons', 'Gilligans Island', and  Elvis movies they enjoyed the music of the 1950's, stuff like Gene Vincent,  Connie Francis, Wanda Jackson, the Shangri-las, and many others. They wanted to include these influences in the theme of the Retro holiday houses. Having been on a few road trips themselves they were always looking for places to stay that had comfort, atmosphere and value for money.

Melbourne Retro Rental is a California Bungalow and has a Tiki & South Pacific theme.  This house is set up like a beach holiday house with cocktail bars, flying ducks, Tretchikoff art, carved tiki art, surfboards, black lady lamps and lava lamps. They have recently put a table tennis table in the sun room, to enhance the holiday house atmosphere.

The Castlemaine Retro Rental is also a California Bungalow which has the 50's Atomic Kitsch and Sputnik influences with Kitsch colours and decor; cocktail bar, flying ducks, chenille bed spreads and atomic lamps. As Castlemaine is the Custom Rod Centre of Australia the car culture is catered for here with a driveway, carport and garage.

Jo and Viktor are developing the theme houses even further and have new and exciting improvments planned. They treat the retro houses as  'works in progress', and they  continue to improve the decor and interiors by collecting all things Retro; kitsch furniture, record players, clothes and decor.

 

Their focus is on fun, fashion, style, comfort  and old fashioned service with Value for Money.
